With this book Mr. Arnold has filled a gap in music education books for the guitar. The beginning guitar student is frequently given an inadequate springboard for their musical development. There are a multitude of helpful hints and tips throughout this book giving the student much needed guidance. Chords are presented with chord diagrams and music notation but more importantly Mr. Arnold discusses how to make many of the chords sound better, as well as the common problems students have with playing each chord. As with Mr. Arnold's other more advanced chord books, "1st Steps for a Beginning Guitarist contains actual chord progression from popular styles so that you can apply the chords you are learning. This is the best way to remember these chords; by making music with them. The pictures and videos along with the numerous audio files found on our website also make learning fun. This is as close to having a top notch teacher in your home as it gets.
